I was born in Whitstable, England, and grew up on the Kent coast, where my love of Thames sailing barges first inspired me at age seven to borrow my fathers woodworking tools and build my first boat……from an old orange crate, with a lot of extra strips nailed on.
On launch day my creation sank very quickly-an inspiration for me to “do things properly” next time.
A lot later on “doing things properly” meant studying for my City & Guilds of London certificate in Carpentry & Joinery (Distinction) and studying furniture making at the International Boatbuilding Training Centre, Lowestoft, England. (Advanced Joinery Certificate – Distinction).
I moved to Long Island with my wife and four children in 1990, and I am still based there. I work alone and produce all manner of custom furniture and cabinetry.
Please note this web site shows only a very small portion of my work, so please call or e mail me and discuss your needs.
I care about my work, and strive to be reasonable and fair.
